1. Course Types:
Integrated Chinese
For people who have a general interest in Chinese. We will study all the aspects of the Chinese language (speaking, listening, reading, writing) and culture. Different methods will be used for adult groups and children’s groups. For adult groups, we will cover practical subjects and learn the vocabulary and grammar systematically. For children’s groups, we will learn the language in a playful way through games, songs and stories.
Spoken Chinese
For people who would like to focus on communication with Chinese people, including listening and speaking. We will start with pinyin (the pronunciation system) and learn useful daily expressions. I would also like to help people who already speak Cantonese or other dialects to improve their spoken Mandarin efficiently.
Chinese Characters
For people who would like to learn a great number of characters in a short period. I will explain the origins of the characters and show how they evolved from drawings, introduce methods to memorize the radicals and simple parts in the characters, and design exercises to enhance reading and typing in characters.
Business Chinese
For people with a professional interest in Chinese, e.g. lawyers, Chinese medical doctors, business traders or kung fu teachers. This course is especially designed for those who wish to communicate better with their Chinese customers or colleagues, who wish to expand their career in China, or who want to have a better understanding of their Chinese business partners.
HSK Preparation
For people who would like to attain a certificate from the HSK test (the official Chinese proficiency test). We will focus on learning the vocabulary and grammar that will appear in the test, which we will practice with exercises and sample exams. I will also help with the registration for these tests.

– Since all the courses are in small groups, the time and location are negotiable according to the students’ schedule and convenience.
– I also offer other types of courses, such as intensive training for schools which are organizing an exchange trip to China. The details of the teaching content can be discussed.
3. Levels:
Beginners – for those with no knowledge or some basic knowledge of Chinese (less than 300 words) – HSK level 1-2
Intermediate – for those who have a reasonable understanding of Chinese (300-800 words) – HSK level 3-4
Advanced – for those who have a good understanding of Chinese (more than 800 words) – HSK level 5-6
